On October 19 2023, in Jakarta, FGD activities were carried out which aimed to determine standards and indicators for the use of natural tourism environmental services in conservation areas. This activity was attended by Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si as the main resource person. In this report, a bird's eye view of these activities will be presented.
In the ecosystem context, tourism and recreation are included in the cultural services section which is one of the ecosystem services. In an effort to build ideal standards related to the use of natural tourism environmental services in conservation areas, this can be done through the development of ecotourism. To achieve this, there are several main criteria that must be considered, namely the presence of elements of adventure, education and recreation. These criteria and indicators are the key to ensuring that ecotourism services can be delivered well, not just as an "eco-facade to green it".
This FGD is the first step in determining standards and indicators for the use of natural tourism environmental services in conservation areas. Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si as the main resource person provided important insights regarding the main criteria for building good ecotourism. Elements of adventure, education and responsible recreation are the main focus in determining this standard. Apart from that, collaboration between various related parties is also key in obtaining holistic and sustainable standards.
It is hoped that the results of this FGD activity can become a reference in developing ecotourism in conservation areas, so that natural tourism can provide sustainable economic and social benefits while still paying attention to environmental conservation.
