The learning objective of the Applied Research Methodology course is to provide students with an understanding of how to develop and execute applied research in the tourism industry. In addition, learning objectives also include understanding how to use appropriate research methods to answer research questions, as well as how to analyze data and present research results.

The Applied Research Methodology course is the core course of the Master of Tourism study program at the Indonesian University of Education. Course information can be downloaded at the following link.

After completing the Research Methodology course, students are expected to be able to:

  1. Gain a better understanding of the applied research process and how to develop useful research questions.

  2. Be able to determine appropriate research methods to answer research questions and collect valid and reliable data.

  3. Acquire skills in analyzing research data and presenting research results effectively.

  4. Able to use research results to develop policies and best practices in the tourism industry.

  5. Acquire knowledge of examples of applied research in the tourism industry, including successful and unsuccessful research, and evaluate the factors that influence the results of such research.

  6. Able to use data collection techniques such as interviews, questionnaires, and observation in applied research.
