The learning objective of the Tourism Policy Analysis course is to provide students with an understanding of the tourism policy-making process, including how to identify problems, evaluate policy alternatives, and evaluate policy impacts. In addition, learning objectives also include understanding how tourism policies can affect the tourism industry as a whole, as well as how to promote effective and responsible policies.

After completing the Philosophy of Science course, students are expected to be able to:

  1. Gain a better understanding of the tourism policy-making process, including how to identify problems, evaluate policy alternatives, and evaluate policy impact.

  2. Be able to understand how tourism policies can affect the tourism industry as a whole, as well as how to promote effective and responsible policies.

  3. Acquire knowledge of examples of tourism policies in various countries, including successful and unsuccessful policies, and evaluate the factors that influence the outcome of these policies.

  4. Able to use cost-benefit analysis to evaluate the impact of tourism policies.

  5. Acquire skills in using communication and diplomacy techniques to promote effective and responsible policies.

  6. Be able to understand changes in industrial structure, product development, and responsible practices that can be influenced by tourism policies.
