On September 27 2023, the activity "Revitalization of Situ Bagendit Ecotourism Based on Histourism in Efforts to Improve the Welfare of the Garut Regency Community" was carried out, which took place at Situ Bagendit, Garut. This event was attended by Dr. AH Galih Kusumah, MM and Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si, who acted as Guest Speaker to convey views and knowledge in developing the field of ecotourism and tourism.
This event was attended by a number of participants from various backgrounds, including tourism industry players, community leaders, students and environmentalists. On this occasion, Dr. AH Galih Kusumah, MM and Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si shared their thoughts and experiences in efforts to improve Situ Bagendit ecotourism using a histourism approach.
One of the main points discussed was the importance of understanding the historical and cultural value of the tourist location that will be developed. Dr. AH Galih Kusumah, MM explained the importance of preserving local cultural and historical heritage, and how to use it to increase tourist attraction. He also highlighted the importance of involving local communities in ecotourism development, so that it can provide direct benefits for their welfare.
Meanwhile, Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si discussed the concept of histourism which can be applied in the revitalization of Situ Bagendit. Histourism is a tourism approach that combines historical and cultural elements with the aim of providing an in-depth experience to visitors. Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si explained the steps that can be taken to integrate historical elements, such as providing accurate historical information, developing environmentally friendly tourism, and involving local communities in the management and development of ecotourism.
During the question and answer session, event participants could ask questions to the two speakers, which made the discussion atmosphere more interactive. Dr. AH Galih Kusumah, MM and Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si patiently and clearly answered every question asked, providing a deeper understanding of the concept of histourism and the practice of ecotourism development.
This activity was considered successful, because it was able to provide new insight and inspiration for the participants in developing tourism-based ecotourism. The resource persons were able to convey information with effective communication, as well as providing real examples of successful ecotourism development in other regions. Dr. Involvement AH Galih Kusumah, MM and Dr. Fitri Rahmafitria, M.Si as Guest Speaker gave this event its own honor, and increased the credibility and quality of the activity.
Through this activity, it is hoped that the revitalization of Situ Bagendit ecotourism can become a good example in the development of sustainable tourism. By combining historical and cultural values, as well as involving local communities in management, it is hoped that Situ Bagendit can become an attractive tourist destination and have a positive impact on the welfare of the people of Garut Regency.
