After experiencing a long period of colonialism, Indonesia succeeded in achieving independence in 1945. However, the colonial legacy still exists in various aspects of life, including culture and national identity. Through tourism, Indonesia can strengthen its postcolonial identity by promoting its unique cultural heritage and building awareness of the nation&#039;s history.<\/p>\n<h2> History of Tourism and Postcolonial Identity in Indonesia<\/h2>\n<p>The history of tourism in Indonesia began in the 19th century, when the Dutch made Indonesia their colony. At that time, tourism in Indonesia was more aimed at colonial interests, such as promoting the natural beauty and richness of Indonesian culture to European tourists.
